Anyone have links to small fastrack layout plans ?

Thanks, Al

Al,

Try http://www.thortrains.net I’m currently working on a 3’x3’ O-27 layouts from this sight.

Enjoy,

George

Thanks George some good layouts…

Any other ideas out there? Maybe your own layout?

Here’s one more with a cross-over and reverse loop setup on the dining room table.

Best regards in trains… Dave

Dave ,

Great looking layout! Can you give me the meausurments?

Thanks, Al

Hey Al,… Dimensions are 90.5" by 40". It’s O-36 curves & switches. Add a couple of inches for clearance. Here’s the RR-Track file converted to bitmap for the layout.

Enjoy …, Dave

I really like some of these. I don’t know if 4x8 is much smaller than the 4x13 that I currently have, but at least you can get some of these under the bed!

Here’s a nice one from RR Track planning S/W examples…its about 4.5’ X 8’

Thanks for all the help. Need to visit my LHS for traack [:D]

Couple of thoughts. First, I really like the combination of the “Fastrack Book” and the video by TM on this. They do have several ideas for layouts that are really easy and neat. Secondly, be sure to stop by Lowe’s and pick up some Sill Seal. It is blue and 3.5" wide, comes in a roll of 50’. Put this under the Fastrack to reduce the noise leve. I have about 200 feet of Fastrack and, while I love many of the features, it can get a bit noisy with several postwar engines going at speed.

Just to add a little about noise reduction. I slipped a regular old ceiling tile under my MTH track (with the foam) and it didn’t make any audible difference than just using 2" foam. Most of my noise is the little edges from rail section to rail section. I plan on smoothing it out when I ballast the track to attach it to the foam. Maybe it will get a little more quiet then. It’s not bad at low speed, but highspeed is just bad enough.
