Does any one have the SuperStreets Set either the Bus or Van? If so how many vehicles can you run at a time with the “Power Pack w/Wires” that comes with the set?
Do all the vehicles go the same speed? I am asking to see if one would catch up to another if multiple are used on one street loop.
Sorry about asking soo many questions at once but I really like to know more about these.
I have almost bought the van set about 5 times in the past month, but haven’t yet. I am waiting for the school bus. I don’t know the size of the transformer, but I bet you could run multiple trains on the stock transformer with no problem. The real problem is that even with two of the same exact car, one will eventually catch the other. I don’t think that they move that fast, so it could take some time. One solution is to isolate 2 ground rails on opposite sides of the track, and tie them together under the layout. Bob Nelson has shown us how to do this in previous posts. I would isolate 2 of the 10" straights since the cars are so short. You could put these sections at a stop sign, or stop light area so it looks natural. That was my plan, anyhow.

Sounds good Wes, I have not thought about insulating a section of Super Street track as I am running just the Plymouth switcher set on it or an MTH trolley.
The REA van is heavy for its size and its rollers (at least on mine) makes a scraping noise so its fairly slow. The Trolley from the set will overtake the REA van quickly as will most handcars, and my speeders. I’m hoping most of the car/vans run at a similar speed but I’m sure the different sized vehicles will have different speeds.
The standard set power pack will however power many vehicles at the same time.
Thanks Wes, I think that is a great idea. I will keep that in mind once I purchase one of these sets and some extra track and vehicles [:)] I will probably just start with the Bus too, and then add on from there.
You are the first person I’ve heard from that is actually running a vehical on these “streets”. Seems like most people are running trolleys, trains, hand cars, etc. on them.
A “street system” will get my attention when one can run proper size diecast cars (1:43 or 1:48). Joe
The thing that attracts me to SuperStreets is the ability, with the transition piece, to have a warehouse dock streetside that can accomodate trucks and railcars.
