Anyone know anything about Railscope or if its bluetooth compatable?

so i saw a railscope gp9 and then found out they make a ho version thats a FA-2 and i was wondering would it be any good for inspecting tracks and if so can you make it bluetooth?

how much do you think the engine could pull? and can you hook the engine to other engines?

im very curious because it seems to be cheap enough and thats what bothers me its 100$ for the O guage GP9 the HO guage FA-2 is $34 for a dummy and powered
so is there something i should be aware of about these engines?

Railscope is a very old system, not been made for 30 years or more. not compatible with any modern video systems or wireless systems. It uses its own small TV and is black and white.

Stay away, save your money.

I haven’t heard of any issues with the HO compared to the O. As mentioned above, it is indeed grayscale and very poor quality. The video is transferred through the track, which exacerbates the quality due to electrical noise. It is compatible with modern equipment, to my understanding, if you can locate an RCA-cable-to-HDMI-cable converter (which converts analog to digital therein). Also, it’s my understanding that the dummy locomotive has the camera, so theoretically any locomotive could push it. For inspecting tracks I also would not recommend it, as the quality would be prohibitory. I, personally, would recommend that you buy a Chinese “Nanny spy camera” (yes, they’re really called that) off of Amazon and stick it on a flatcar.

They blew $700 on a full layout with Railscope :sob:

There is a name for this (Latin)
“Emptor caveat” is a Latin phrase that translates to “let the buyer beware.” regards mike endmrw0422251212
