Here’s four quick links for your trackplanning tastebuds…

Mike,
Atlas has some basic ones on there website:

(These are the ones for HO. Atlas have ones for N-scale, too.)
Mike, for what’s it worth. Most layout track plans (to me) always seem contrived and too busy - like they are trying to cram way too much RR into a given space. IMO, it would be better if you could come up with your own - albeit - simple design.
With that said, here’s another web site that lists actual layouts:
http://www.cwrr.com/nmra/Layout-HO.html
Maybe you could peruse through some of them and get ideas.

tstage,
Thanks to you and tgindy for these sites. I agree with you and understand that I should design my own layout based on my ‘Givens’ and ‘Druthers’…but I would like to see some pre-fab layouts to get the creative juices flowing.
I would like to pick a layout that is close and then remove or add to fit my needs (in other words…don’t re-create the wheel). Like, right now I can’t afford the cash or space for a turn table and round house but I would like a small yard…so I will plan for the turn table in my yard as an extension later on.
I also have a limited space that I can use right now…so I need to see what is ‘doable’ in that space. I have a total of 8’ x 14’ for an HO layout. I have 3 walls I can use and make it sort of a ‘C’ or ‘G’ style layout…or I can make it a 7’ x 13’ with access spaces and roll it around in the garage as an island when I move the wifey’s car out during run time (In other words…I have given up my half of the garage for MRR, hehe…and there’s no real concern with me keeping my car outside during a Mississippi winter anyway!)
I agree that the pre-fab layouts try to cram it all in…and I will be avoiding that. I would like something that is a combo layout though…something that allows for continuous running but is also a point to point and has enough switching to keep my interest. Maybe in the realm of an Out and Back system. I would like to be able to reverse loop it and have another train going around and have them meet at the sidings (I think I said that right…). I would also like it to have a small station (like City Station or Clarksville Station) that it can stop at…and Glacier Gravel that it can also go to. The rest is up in the air at this time.

P.S. That 8’ x 14’ area is with my wife’s car in the garage also…and room to open the doors and not bang into anyt
In that case, how about these?
