So far the only UP Heritage Katy is Overland for about $850. Are they brass and are they worth the money?
They are very nice looking.
They are brass, but I don;t know if they’re worth it. If you don’t want to spend that much, then Tower 55 will be making a plastic SD70ACE with OMI quality detail and an OMI mechanism. Then you could buy one that’s undecorated and custom paint it.
I believe they are brass. While I own many brass steam locos, I have never
thought brass diesels are worth the money-I can do better with plastic, paint
and detail parts. This, of course, is my own opinion. Take it for what it’s worth.

I have spent over $1300.00 for a Turbine. Like said above most plastic now have better detail then the big buck brass engines. I would also agree to wait for the OMI Tower 55 engines. Now consider if you don’t paint it yourself you can have $125 - $200 in a professional paint job done right. If it’s something you want and can afford I say go for it.
If you want the UP Heritage units just wait till early next year for the Tower 55 ones. Those are $259.99 or $299.99 retail. Still to much but a better price than $850
That would be a great investment, they do run like a watch, one catch don’t wait to long these are very limited run items are they tend to sell out very fast. With brass when there gone there gone.

What kind of a diesel is it? And were did you get that price? Is it a SD70ACE like Darth Santa Fe said?
