I need someone to look at my brass Challenger. I need someone who is good at finding shorts and getting this thing running right.
Thanks
Mike

I don’t know if you’re willing to ship your model out-of-state or not, but there’s a hobbyshop in central Maryland called Peach Creek Shops ( http://peachcreekshops.com ), owned & operated by John Glaab - author of the Brown Book of Brass Locomotives. His shop does repair work, and I think he knows a thing or two about brass! [;)]
CSX,
Thanks for the tip. I called him and he didn’t want anything to do with a expensive engine like that. And he really doesn’t fix them anymore. We talked for awhile though. He did give me some good ideas. It is probably the drawbar. Which would explain why it worked with one tender and not that origional one. I’ll look later. I would ship the engine out of the country if I thought it would run fine.

Also try Caboose Hobbies in Denver. 303-777-6766. They have a very talented brass repair staff. Ask for Roger Clark.
Roy at Mount Vernon Shops also specializes in brass repairs. You can reach him at RoySchnoor@aol.com
[#ditto] I had an 0-6-0 that threw a tire on a driver. Looked like a major operation to me with all that valve gear in the way. They had it fixed up quick and not costly.
