Check it out. We may not be the only lonely ones…lol
If I could I would scan it in, but can’t and wouldn’t want to violate copywrite laws
Enjoy your day

Don’t take the paper anymore - just don’t read it and alot of paper waste for me =(
I do remember that comic series featuring the Dentist Husband getting into trains and that being the topic for a while. I think it mirrors the authors husband.
Is this it???
I like that last line ‘I’ve got nobody to play with’. I’ve had days like that.
Hahaha!!![(-D]
As an aside, I heard Phil Ligget announcing the final stage into Paris of the Tour de France today. He let it slip that he is looking forward to getting back to his “…electric garden railway.”
We are legion. [:D]
Yep , I got a good hearty laugh this morning , when I read the Comics. I can feel for him. No one close by cares about me and my trains. [:(]
In my opinion, that’s a big plus. [swg] What good is escapism if you can’t get away? [:D]

This has always been a great cartoon-been a fan for many years & enjoyed watching the characters “grow up” & “age.” From what I understand, the cartoonist, Lynn Johnston’s husband is a model railroader himself & has a outdoor layout.
Also I’ve heard that this fall, due to health issues, etc, Lynn is going to step back a bit-cartoons will still run, but the characters will cease to age & grow. (Wouldn’t mind being able to do the former)
You’d like my fridge magnet then… She did one for Riding Rail Kits. Because her husband owns the company.

There is another comic strip on this page too.
I’ll play with yours, if you play with mine…[;)]
Of COURSE I’m talking about trains…what did you THINK I meant??
I believe the cartoonist’s husband, Rod Johnston, owns this company that makes large scale trains that can be ridden. His interest in trains has often been featured in the cartoon. This one DOES hit home I will say …

I was thinking of posting that too, but ya beat me to it! There was another one in the AJC Sunday too, I think it was “One Big Happy”. That one was slightly disturbing (the dad used the model trains to illustrate terrible incidents like “Brain-Dead Brent” getting run over by a train).
I like that one a whole lot more than the better-or-worse.
On a related note, ever seen Toy Trunk Railroad?
I’ve been following For Better or For Worse, long enough to remember when John first took up model railroading, and he built the layout in the laundry room.

Our paper recently revamped its comics page. They dropped For Betrter or for Worse along with other great comics, and replaced them with pure junk.[:(!]
Thats a good one…sometimes you just can’t find anybody to play with…Cox 47
I remember that too Nick-actually our local paper started carrying the strip when Elizabeth (the daughter (who’s now a young 20 something teacher) was being potty trained. It was done with an effect that you were part of the family. The one Sunday strip that stands out was 1 about 10 or so years ago-it was about John reading to the youngest (April) a story book & changed things completely around, making her scream with frustration. The exact same thing happened with me & my aunt when I was a toddler-it was surreal that it was so close to my experience. I saved it & made sure my aunt saw it before she passed away.
For size and spacing considerations the Kalamazoo Gazette has not shown the first two panels of For Better or For Worse in the Color Comics Section since everything had been rearranged in the past few years. Their printed version left out the visual set-up of the outdoor layout.
