Any good ideas on how to apply Busch backdrops to the backdrop of your layout…What type of glue or pastes???
I use the 3-M spray-on adhesive a lot at work. Its easy and reasonably secure. If you coat both the paper and the back-drop it is a permanent bond. Just be sure your alignment is right. If you spray just the back-drop, the bond is not permanent and you can peel off the paper if desired.
You could also try a spray on, water based, wall paper paste, but I don’t know if the Busch back-drops are color fast.
Good luck.
I use a lot of rubber cement. If you change your mind, most things can be removed without any damage.
Thanks for the helpful tips…Had heard of the rubber cement but not the 3M product. Was going to use ordinary wallpaper paste, but wasn’t sure of the results.Enjoy your railroad…Michael
For what it’s worth I used 2 sided carpet tape for my backdrop which is 18" x 144". I also used the tape for the smaller Walthers backdrop sheets but it does tend to tear if you aren’t careful and patient pulling it back off especially after a year or so. I used penciled marks on the wall to mark the edge and was able to do most of the work solo though two peole make it easier. Good Luck J.R.
