I am building the Virginian and it calls for Noch late summer grass. Every one is out of stock, but there are other manufacturers. Are they all good? This is my first shot at static grass.
I would try “scenic express” they have the different lengths and colors ,I would think exept for color static grass is static grass …Jw
I’m also new to using static grass and have had some success with the Silflor products from Scenic Express. Using grass mixtures comprised of various lengths and colors looks good. Don’t know if all static grass is equal, but the applicators are not.

If any grass shows up on my layout, I’ll have to call back the PAVING CONTRACTORS!

Static grass materials are mostly similar. A few products have extra stuff thrown in for additional texture, but those consisting of the grass only are essentially the same to use. I regularly combine several brands into custom mixtures, and they all work together.
Static grass comes in quite a few colors, but also a variety of lengths. I’ve got 2mm from Woodland Scenics, and 4mm and 6mm from Scenic Express. I like the 4 and 6mm ones much better than 2. The 2mm grass, to me, looks more “fuzzy” and less “grassy.” I think the 2mm grass tends to curl rather than stick straight up.
I prefer to use a lot of color variety for all my scenery, to get a more natural, wild look. So, I’ve got 2 each of the 2, 4 and 6mm grasses, all in different colors. This lets me blend and overlap areas to get smooth transitions from lowlands to highlands.
This is mostly 2mm grass:
