Are Proto 1000's DCC ready?

Im asking this because Walthers is releasing the GP15-1 in HO and i would like to get a couple for yard power. I dont really know how to hard wire a decoder nor do i have a soldering iron and thats why i ask, walthers doesnt really give any info besides road names and it has a smooth motor. Im guessing this is a remake of the old Walthers Trainline GP15-1 and i read somewhere that it was DCC ready. So if anyone knows i would really appreciate it.

The Catalog isn;t clear, but it was my understanding they come with the 8 pin socket and you plug in a new decoder. Not hard.

Thats good to know! Thank you! I was wondering if they would be or not because walthers is asking $100 for it! They better be DCC ready for that price!

jeez, thank you so much for telling me about the new protos I have always wanted a GP15-1 in conrail, I’ll be keeping a eye on this one!
