Are there any other West Virginia Midland modelers out there?

I’m looking for other West Virginia Midland narrow gauge fans. I have info to share and look forward to seeing the models others have built. NG in WV is unusual in and of itself, the WVM is ‘all that and a bag of chips’. It interchanged with the Western Maryland and it lends itself to lots of ‘what if’ modeling.

I dontz model narrow gauge (plenty of the prototype out here to play with) but I’m interested in anything Applachia. have you modeled any of it yourself?

Hi WVM Nut,

I have become a recent fan of the WVM when I decided to add narrow gauge. I model in HO the B&O, ERC&L, BC&G and have added the WVM because it connected with the B&O at Holly Junction. I recently finished building a brass model of WVM’s #11, 2-8-0, and have under construction a NG Two-truck shay, which is almost completed. I just finished a La Belle wood passenger car kit and have two more to build. You can see some of my work at www.buffalocreekandgauley.com

I lived in West Virginia for 15 years and loved the place. I modeled the B&O/WM operations through Morgantown then in HO. I think WV narrow gauge is extremely interesting and if I move back someday I will probably model some WV logging operations in On30 or 1:20. The Buffalo Creek and Gauley is really neat. - Nevin
