Hi railbluffs–my first post from hot Denver. Was wondering tonite while looking over trains site–are we going to expand eventually the train web cams? Really like the Rochelle cam but sure would like to see some more.
Also does anyone know of other web cams that is worth watching?
Just join in this recently and looking forward to communicate and make friends here. Its a great site to be in. Thanks-----denverhank.
The word on the Forum is “no”. Too expensive for one thing. Chad from CA may give you some ideas as to other webcams, but for my $ (free) the one here is still the best.
Have some other Denverites - you can usually find them in the diner tormenting the resident cat.
Also check out the website www.livetrains.com there is 1 webcam in Ft. Madison IA, it over looks the Mississippi River and a swing bridge that is really cool. The bridge is used for both cars and the railroad!
Thanks aplenty Chad!!! whoa in heaven now. Good to see San Diego again. I used to live in both San Diego and chula vista. Didnt realize trolley is just only 25 yrs old. Seems longer.
Have a good friend and rail fan named Mike Campbell that used to live in Diego/Hillcrest too. When I was there we used to do all sorts of training stuff and really made some long visits. Used to eat at the Chicken pie shop alot before was done away. Gees Chad your bringing alot of old and fond memoories back bud. Does the zoo still have the mini train?
Will jot these sites as well as always want to keep touch with them. Since I gotten new puter had lost the madison site now thanks to you pal got it back again.
Say keep me posted and feel free chat at any time. I will reply. Many thanks again Chad.
Glad to be the provider of a few good flashbacks.[:D] I have only been here about a year and a half so I don’t know about the zoo. I might be able to answer that soon as my brother wants to check it out. I was just trying to look at the webcam that overlooked the train yards downtown and it looks like they moved that cam. Bummer, The RRBB&B circus train is in town and I wanted to see if the cars were parked there. Oh well, I guess I’ll just have to take a drive this evening and check it out.
I did a little reasearch and there is a new camera that overlooks the San Diego yards. Here is the link. And the circus train is there. looks like I will be going to check it out tonight.
Glad you are enjoying them. Have you checked out the Donner one. It’s not the busiest but the frame rate and pic size can’t be beat. (dial ups need not try) I just wish there were more busy junctions like Rochelle. I would like to see cams at Colton crossing, Stockton (where the tower was), Vancouver jct.
I gladly support the thought of that. More the merrier.
Havent checked donner yet but will now. Ive noticed again that a few sites are poor in their cam views or just dont reset for 90 secs. kinda s**** I thought. Wonder what the new portland station realignment cam goin look like—bet be good improvement from the past cam or at least be in better angles.
Lo–sat and watch the screen at Floriston and nothing happened yet as saw a few cars and bikes go by. Goes figures ha. I think the luck going change for the good today unless the renos trench swalloped up the trains now–hehe.
