Are you snowed in? How are you copping?

I just finished mulching leaves and preparing my vegetable garden for this spring. Thinking about grilling a burger this evening and having a rum.

Not too bad in southern Montana…we have about a foot of snow on the ground and the winter so far has been on the mild side. We’ve only had a few days of below zero temps, lately it has been in the 20’s.

Here’s a photo from our front porch:

We got 18-20 inches on the Maine coast; hard to judge with the drifting from the strong winds. Parts of my deck were bare and a few feet away was a 3’ deep drift. The snow was dry, but hard packed so shoveling was a bit difficult. The wind was the thing. Gusts in the 50 MPH range; one offshore met. bouy recorded 70MPH gust. One local weather man said the low pressure in the storm was what would be seen in a strong Cat 2 or weak Cat 3 hurricane! Fortunately no power outages in our area; no worries there, I have a generator.

The storm started out as a tropical systems, so basically, it was a hurricane.

Supposedly, we got 16" of snow in South Central CT… fortunately, I’m visiting relatives in Central PA, where we have no more than a dusting (although highs in the 20’s with wind chills below zero).

Western North Carolina… evening of 12/25

(Question - How does one paste a pic so that it shows directly in a reply??)

Snow? Denver is 51 degrees today. We have not had any significant precipitation since, since, ummm July 10th? We really need the moisture - rain, sleet, snow doesn’t matter. I broke out the sprinklers on the garden hose to water my lawn on Thanksgiving as it was (and still is) drying up and dying.

Cowman.

I work in Hyannis but live in Brewster. Good ole Cape Cod. It is faster to drive from one town to the next during a blinding snow storm then a nice Summer day!

Pete

I know, what the heck, no snow for Christmas, that was a bummer. I can’t believe how dry it’s been, but the mountains have been getting hammered.

I saw on a news cast, some guy drove up to Loveland pass and filled his trailer with snow and brought it back and dumped it on his front lawn for a “white Christmas” LOL
