Aristocraft radio control of DC

Hi,
I am new to the forums and would like to ask if anyone has any experience of Aristcraft radio control systems. I have an O, scale system in my garage and am debating whether to install tethered throttles or save on the wiring hassles with the Aristocraft system?

I’ve operated a garden layout using one of the Aristocraft throttles, it was ok. The main problem I can see with it is that it uses push-buttons for speed control rather than a rotary control knob. This made it a bit tricky to be sure that the power was off, and it’s also quite tricky to switch with these units. I suspect they’re fine for garden layouts or continuous run setups, but a bit tricky for end-to-end layouts

Hi Railroading_Brit,
Thanks for the info, just the sort of feedback I am looking for. My own set up is an o’ scale, round the walls continuous run with limited switching. Sounds like it could be just what I am looking for. Incidently I am in North Wales!!

I thoroughly enjoyed using the Aristocraft product as a simple way to get wireless walk-around control. The buttons are a little strange at first, but I didn’t have any real trouble adjusting to them. I was able to use the unit for operations as well and was able to become quite good at switching with one. It was nice not to have to worry about the throttle getting tangled up in cable…and it was cheap and easy, too.
