Arizona is burning just a bit

[:-^] There is 3 fires going on here in the mtns. All of them are 25 to 50 mi . from our cabin in the mtns. We are almost in the center of the triangle… The smoke isn’t to bad yet ,the wind blows away from us. Sunflower --Crown King and Bull Flat is where they are at

Not to worry ,no railroads are in peril.

Cannonball

We hope no cannonballs are in danger of shooting off, either…stay safe!

Stay safe!!!

Cannonball;

Y’all Stay Safe,

and Keep your powder dry! [:-^]

Cannonball, as the others have said, Stay Safe, and please keep us updated, if you can. Hope the fires stay well away from you.

Thank you folks. Right now the only threat is in the Humboldt area close to Crown King ,20 or so mi. from here @ CJ The wind is from the north , so blowing away the smoke from our area. The back road to Mayer is where all the fire equipment is going to Crown King. The wind does jump the fire across roads real quick. Therei are “hot shot crews " watching for that not to happen. Plus several aircraft ~~ fire bombers Big birds & large choppers from Prescott air field which is close at hand to the fire lines . The forest service has not called for track bull dozers yet to cut a fire break. The area is very rugged terain so " Bambi” buckets are in use along with Sky Crane Choppers . The air boss tells where to drop water or retardent at. Wild Fires is something you never get used to , just like flooding on the river flats. You just deal with it as best as you can Some folk here volenteer to haul livestock , ( horses & pets) from threatned areas. Beleive only a small part of news reports in Phx. those people never leave the station much. ~~~~ For now we are safe and will be. Also NO railroads are or will be harmed. Will post as more events happen here

Respectfully, Cannonball

We totally understand both the fire comments and the news media quip Cannonball. Denver isn’t any better.

Hope CA or Mexico send you some moisture. (you are in the local and national news here)<

Well the Crown King fire has been up greded to a type #1 , all resources will be here for maximum effort. Mayer High School is the command center and shelter for the folks rousted by the fire.There is 2 PV2 fire bombers and smaller choppers with bambi buckets & a Sky Crane. If needed a P3 Neptune will be in service . Fain lake is near by for water for choppers. The bombers are at Prescott air field ,as is the choppers. One P2 had a hydro oilleak, and the wrenches properly beat on the old bird for a half hr. and she is back in service. There are more out of state hotshot crews here now. The wind is the biggest hazard now for fire fighters. We are the safest as can be, the fire is 25 mi. from here. Our concern now is a cigarette weedv fire on the I -17 That happens a lot from Sunset point rest stop north to C.J. Malfunction Junction. No railroads or trains have been harmed yet by the FLG. Fire.

More later as events unfold.

Respectfully, Cannonball

Well the other event just happened. With all the other things going on , now the firefighters have to contend with Rattle snakes, bad boys indeed . 3 homes have burned so far. Also no one has died from the fire , which is good news. All the info I get is not conjecture as I have friends who live in the fire area. There is a meeting of fire management folk @ 6:00 todayin Mayer high school about whats going on , as if the folks don’t already know~~ maybe a feel good thing. Hope the firefighters will have Snake boots to protect against Rattlers . More later.
