I recall an article in MR about building a garden railroad. I think it was a dog-bone layout, using a raised bed built with railroad ties, or something like that. Does anyone remember such, and know which month/year issue it was in?
Gidday, Searching the Model Railroader 75 year collection DVD ,and using “Garden Railroads” got 32 matches just between 2000 and 2009.
However going from your description I’m 99.9% certain, ( but I have been wrong before, I think?? [swg] ) , that the article you seek is “Lake City & Northerly RR” by Richard Schafer, page 84, June 2002 issue.
Cheers, the Bear.
P.S, Please don’ t think that you’re unwelcome here, but I see our hosts also have a forum for Garden Railroads that may help even more.
Hi
If you don’t know, while MR may have carried such articles, I would also check out their issues of Garden Railways. They have forums as well there.
Their site/link is here:
Unless you want the layout plan to do in HO or N scale, then you would probably find more info on GR.

Yes!!! That’s the one - Thanks so much. I actually had searched the on-line index (http://trc.trains.com/magazineindex/) and saw it in the list, but the title didn’t jump out at me. It’s the one, though.
You’re right - I would’ve gone to the Garden RR next, but since I knew it was in an MR issue I thought I’d try here first.
Thanks again for the replies.
