I’m sure there was a series of articles in MR about building a model railroad with Kato track and styrofoam scenery. I can’t seem to find them. Do any of you folks remember where they are?
N scale??? That would be The Salt Lake Route, The Inspiration For A Small Layout, by Dick Christianson in the January, February, and March 2010 issues of MR. How soon we forget!
2010 is a blur!
There was an MR project layout in HO that used Kato track maybe five years ago or so. I can picture it but can’t think what it was called offhand…??
See the Model Railroader book “HO Rilroad from start to finish” by Jim Kelly; Kalmbach Publishing, 1993. Reprinted in full from the Model Railroader magazine series of the same name. A VERY helpful book. WDB

February 2007 issue of MR shows the track plan for the Black River Junction layout - a 4 by 8 with an extension for staging.
I am not quite sure whether it was Kato Unitrack they used in building the WGH layout - check this link
