Where’s the Apple Logo?

It would take away a bit of fun to research it, methinks; thus here goes:
While staying at the Grand Hyatt, my wife and I walked from its lobby thru a corridor and a short distance later were on the main floor looking at the clock of GCT fame.
The Grand Hyatt is thus effectively the east wall of GCT and our room was on the 30th floor.
“Early morning sunlight streams thru the 60’ tall windows…”
Likely afternoon…methinks.
(Read some Shakespe…)
Cipriani’s (sp? tiramissou) as they say is to die for, that which was served at the reception at the Cipriani’s across 42 Street from the “front” entrance of GCT. My nephew’s marriage.

Actually, Mr. Carlin, the elevated, Northbound portion of Park Avenue separates GCT and the Hyatt. At ground level the buildings are connected, though. The grand, 60’ windows pictured on the stamp line up with the area behind (north) of the Hyatt. There is still a good deal of light that can stream through them during the morning hours. The ends of the main concourse line up with 43 St.

GCT was my gateway to New York City on my first visit there, in 1965. What a thrill to step off NYC’s Ohio State Limited after breakfasting along the Hudson, then head to the golden clock in the concourse to meet the friends who’d invited me to the city. Happy 100th, GCT!

This year is the centennial celebration. Ck out the Grand Central Terminal website for details on events this year.
