As I sit here today

In my nice, warm house, I can honestly say that I live in the greatest country on earth. My health, safety, standard of living, and outlook for the future are better than a majority of the other occupants of this planet. For that, I am thankfull for the veterans who made this possible.

To all those who served, and especially those veterans I share this forum with- Thank You!

Well said !!! [tup][tup]

The flag is from my Dads coffin, the medals from his years in the Navy.

My youngest daughter never really knew him, but her older sister adored him…and unlike most kids today, she understands exactaly what it is, and what it represents, that she is holding in her arms.

For the Honor, Duty and Sacrifice all our service personel offer, you have my heart felt thanks.

As a Korea era vetrean I shall also be participating in Vererans Day events.

I am a 57 consecutive years member of the American Legion. I will be at our Post tonight when we serve a free dinner to all members who have nenewed their membership for 2009. We have a National Cemetery here and have honored those interred appropriately.

Fellow comrades, I honor you all.

A great big salute to all you veterans out there, and many, many thanks!
