ALLENTOWN, PENNSYLVANIA-- The Allentown Scranton & Northern Railroad and the Hocking Valley Railroad have announced plans the run a intermodal train from Allentown, Pa to Chicago, Il. Trains will stop at Binghampton, NY and Marion, Ohio. “We’re very exited about this” said a AS&N spokesman. Trains will use the Penn Co (Penn Central) from Binghampton, NY to Sharon, Pa. The railroads will each put one or two of there own engines onto the train. A freight train is also in the works.
So what do you think[?][?][?] If you have any question just post em’! The symbols for the intermodal will be HV 130 and 131 while the AS&Ns will be 232 and 233. Enjoy!!!

It sounds like you are on the right track, (no pun intended) with your intermodal run.
Everything has to start someplace, and it sounds like you are starting a good traffic base with your model rr. Although it seems your train will have to proceed north from Allentown to Binghamton, then seems to head back south? Unless I`m mistaking about which line you are using.
The AS&N runs the train from Allentown to Binghamton. The PC (www.chescweb.com/pennco) runs it from Binghampton to Sharon, Pa. The Hocking Valley (www.chescweb.com/hvcorp) run it from Sharon to Chicago. The HV and PC are owned by friends of mine from the Teen Assocation of Model Railroaders. Eastbounds drop off cars at Binghampton while westbounds will drop off cars at Marion , Ohio.
Sounds good to me, happy railroading!
