I would comment but then Bob Keller would have to email me and call me down. Unlock my old screen name, told me I did not know my password. I do know my password. Then it emailed me an ecrypted password which did not work. Then said if it did not work, keep trying to get emailed passwords. Over ten trys, it finally worked. [V][|(]

It does take some noodlin’ around - there’s a FAQ on the main corp. site. I like the quick reply feature… we’ll get used to it, I guess. I realize I loath change.

There are at least three threads going on about this new forum. I hope someone is listening to the complaints. There are quite a few. My list includes all my subscribed threads have vanished. Lag is up considerably, even though I am on high speed DSL. And in case anyone is wondering why I am typing in all bold, it’s the only way I can see the dang printing. Did Clark Kent decide on the font size or what??? And we can’t even adjust it larger. Sheesh! Why is every upgrade a downgrade at this place??? [|(]

Don’t woorrrry Chief; To save the day; the Maytag Man is on the way !!! That poor souddern guy tried to address these issues with his laptop, but he tried and cried so much that his tears shorted out the laptop. I fixed him up with an Amtrack ticket, so he is heading your direction…It was getting chilly up here in Minnesota today, and I didn’t think it would be much warmer in Wisconsin, so I sent him to your place…
Before he left my place, he was kind enough to leave me a couple sticks of dynomite so I could “re-program” this splendid Vista operating system that came on my new computer… It took me a good 10 minutes to get the Vista system to even start just now…As far as this website, I did expect and notice some differences in response time,but with some of the goofy experiences I have encountered with this new computer??? but this website did work ok for me,this time, anyway [%-)]
BDT, love your reply. We need you on the “Coffee Pot”. I did notice this AM there is a sow down. Kept showing “waiting for Trains.com to reply”. Give Bergie a little time and I am sure he will get it working better. I did notice it went to the last page of the Pot when I selected it. Now lets see if it goes back to page one when I post. That was what it was doing last night.
PS: Bergie, I was wrong. Click on last page of Pot, goes to 3-21-08. Hard to get to last page as it thinks it is on last page [page indicator is shoing yu are on it and can not click on it]. Then when you post on the Pot, goes to 3-21-08. Then you can click on LAST and get your post. May be a VISTA thing as I’m on laptop. If home, desktop on XP. I’m sure you can figure it out.

There are a couple things that NEED to be fixed:

When you Reply to a post the software should take you BACK to where you replied, not the first page of the thread - very annoying

There is way too much advertising. The advertisements on the right get in the way and are too close to some of the action buttons. Accidental clicks are very bothersome since the adds take you away from the site and do not open in new windows or tabs - like they should.

The edit bar is missing the font style, size, and color - that is rather annoying as well. Not everyone here is a Web Developer and knows how to do this through code.

The screenname retrieval needs to either be eliminated, or a note added that if the user logs out and then back in the screenname is retrieved.

My involvement in was is a 40 minute meeting two weeks ago, where we (CTT, CT, MR, GR, and Trains) were briefed on the forum changes. I believe that this is an upgrade of an outside vendor’s software software, not something cobbled together here) so I’m not sure what can be done. I suspect that IS is checking the forums for feedback, but I’ll be sure to forward your concerns to them.
ACK! You could have at least put up a Yankees emblem[:P]. So how did you get the larger fonts? I tried everything I could to make it bigger but nothing worked.

Well, I think they know some problems and lets give them time to work them out. Its a “canned” system [don’t blame them as canned is cheaper] tweeking is not as easy as an in-house system. Just glad to have it. I not too patient some times. Give them time.
