I know I made this thread in layouts and layout building, but I wanted to see i’d get more replys here.
Materials: sheet of styrene (not too thick), sand (not to fine), black of grey acrylic paint (either a spray or for airbrush), wet water, dullcote, and WS scenic glue.
Step 1: Spread sand evenly over styrene so it’s a tiny bit less than an eighth of an inch
Step 2: mist wet water till the sand is soaked with it, but becareful not to make craters. Next sray with WS scenic glue. Let it dry overnight.
Step 3:Spray on black or grey acrylic paint. Spray it on evenly, but make sure the can or airbrush isn’t spray droplets too big. Make sure the paint soaks into it, but dont spray so much it’s dripping. The sand will get wet again just like when you sprayed on the wet water. Let it completely dry. I’d say two days.
Step four: spray a little bit of dullcote on. Not enough to make it wet, just to get on the surface and dry. Let dry.
I finally have a photo of it! Although I broke it cause I didn’t really have for it. But
hopefully these fotos are good enough to see the final product.
Have fun.
