I don’t know about you but I have/had a heck of a time putting this signal stand together on the layout so I figured out a process for assembly on my bench and placing it on the layout. What a difference in the quantity of four letter words required to get it assembled and working.
I make a small metal plate to glue my Ties to. Then I attach an SMT bi-color LED to the rear vertically.
I glue a section of PC tie to the rear for soldering wires/SMT resistors
A pic fm the rear with all components painted flat black. This was my first so it looks a little ragged. I now have done 8 of them and they look much neater. Not very prototypical but effective and the components are not visible from the front.
The LED’s I use are not very bright so they don’t flood the whole area. You get a nice Red/Green glow behind the stand. So I can tell at a glance what position the switch is in. This is a shot of the Red. The light is easily visible from 6-10 ft away.
Now all I have to do is place on layout and attach the wire to the throw bar. Easy!
