This is about the currently ‘yellow’ stars post rating system. Exactly what is defined as a good or bad topic? I’ve never seen anything on that. But, if I hate the color pink, and a post has the word “pink” in it, oh my God, the forum has to be warned with a bad rating! Does that make sense? I think that is actually kind of stupid. But, in my opinion, that is exactly what the yellow stars are about, imposing an often stupid opinion of a very narrow minority on the majority, because the majority are NOT impelled to get involved. If stars were sent to outer space, that would suit me just fine. What is your opinion on this?
The squeaky journal box gets the grease.
My vehicle came with a pump in the back, that you can use to pump up air mattreses and such. I’m not sure why someone thought it would be a desireable option, but they included it. Somewhere, there’s someone with puffed up air mattresses who things those folks were geniuoses.
I’d guess that the star rating system was something that came as a standard offering as part of the forum software. It’s no big deal to me. I can tell from observation, that the system averages the number of stars clicked by users. As of now, I give this thread 5 stars. If the next guy gives it one star, it will average 3 stars, and the world keeps turning anyway.
IMHO, these star ratings are as useless as the previous system where a user would get a different colored star for each incremental number of posts. I don’t pay any attention to the stars – I read the subject line and if it interests me I read it; otherwise, I just go on down the list. no matter how many stars it may have.
Likewise.
I agree with Cacole, and Johnny…
Include me, as well! [%-)]
Not sure what the star system means to anyone, except maybe to a General grade officer.[^o)]
All of you gentlemen, if you truly want to know the significance of the stars (and little rectangles next to your screen name), ought to contact Kalmbach “Customer Service” (icon at top right of screen) and you will get (within 48 hours) quite cogent and understandable answers to your questions. I did so a long time ago, and you will likely gain the same information, and thus put to end to your ill-informed complaints. (It will probably be “Megan” who will respond.)
Could not “Megan” (or you) respond here and save a lot of e-mails and time? There might even be people that would like to know, but just don’t want to take the time to compose the question and send it off.
