Anyone know a source for the above ATH axle gear p/n 60023. I have some metal outside framed Athearns that need to have their Ernst gearing removed and I will need some of the 60023s to replace the Ernst axle gears. My usual sources are out and there are none on Eb ay.

Maybe Athearn Parts Dept?
What loco and model year is that part from? I looked through some of the Athearn drawings on the http://hoseeker.org/athearn.htm site and don’t see that part shown anywhere. Is is part of the wheel assembly?
There is a guy who advertises in the back of MR that always says he has Athearn parts. Haven’t dealt with him myself, but he is listed as R J Rennie, 440-234-7186. He is in Berea, Ohio.

They are on ebay all the time. I don’t remember which seller I got them from but he has a lot of listings all the time. I think I got a package of 6 for $4.00. Roger Huber
I couldn’t find it on HOseeker either. But all my old outside metal frames have this old axle gear p/n which according to one of my regular sources IS 60023 (as opposed to the newer 60024. These 60023 axle gears have a wider diameter gear (by about .1mm) and longer hubs which fit flush to the running wheels (with no intervening bearing). Fortunately, the bores are the same as the 60024s.
I will try your source…thanks.
REDVDUB1,
The ones I mentioned,from Hobbywarehouse,the 60024,look exactly like your description…
Good Luck!!
