Athearn Big Boy won't run

Hi all I bought an Athearn Big Boy with the Tsunami decoder in it. Anyway I cannot get it to move in either DC or DCC. It makes sounds in both modes but no movement. Anybody got any idea about what I am doing wrong here? I am rather annoyed as I have saved up for months to get this locomotive. My other locomotives work fine in DC and DCC.

A few months ago I bought one and had the same issue. I returned it to the seller and it turned out the decoder was bad.

Try resetting the decoder as a first step.

I tried that. Still not working. In DC mode that tender light flashes several times before going out when I try to start it.

EDIT: I got it going. Don’t know what I did but she’s going now. Thanks Simon for taking the time to respond and offering your suggestion.

Sometimes a little fiddling can fix the issue. :slight_smile:
