The Athearn Bombardier cars have trucks with inside bearings. Basically the axles snap into a U shaped truck frame and that serves as the bearing. The rolling friction of these things is atrocious.
Anyway, does anyone know of a replacement truck for these with better bearings?

Imperial Hobby Productions ( http://ihphobby.tripod.com ) make several types of inside-bearing trucks. They are metal, they are not cheap and are designed for the various Walthers Amfleet and Comet passenger cars. They might work on the Athearn Bombardier cars you’d have to explore clearance and height issues. You might be able to apply a small amount of plastic-compatible oil on the axles at the bearing points to lubricate them, but that introduces it’s own set of complications…
