DOES ANYONE KNOW WHO MAKES THE CHALLENGER FOR ATHEARN.
Nothing indicates the individual company, but it does say “Made in China” on the box.
If anyone knows, please let us all know.

Why does it matter? Have you called Athearn? MR? One of the competing companies?

Awesome a self contained and completed question in one sentence.
Answer already included.
Did you ever consider that it might be Athearn makes the Athearn Challenger?
Well enough fun for now. I seem to recall that the Korean manufacturer Samhongsa was making the chassis and running gear for one of the early Athearn steam engines, but haven’t heard if they are making the other ones too.
May I ask why you want to know? It doesn’t really matter, as it is an Athearn model, and they are responsible for it in all aspects.

According to a Nov.post by a MRstaffer, the Challenger is not made by the same Company that made the 2-8-2 & 4-6-2.

Athearn imports it, but does not make it. They contract with a company in China, but we do not know who, or do we.
