I have a Standard Coach with the Clerestory roof; part #1856 .
Can somebody tell me if this thing is supposed to have doors on the ends, or just rectangular holes?
I thought it would be like the other kits I have put together where there is a door with a window.
Thanks.

No doors…You are looking at a kit that has close to 50-55 year old tooling. Most modelers I know just add diaphragms and let it go at that.
Sorry about that, and thanks Larry.
It is too bad that I am such an imbicile.[ ]

Actually,on heavyweight cars, the door was between the coach and the vestibule, not on the ends. There was, however,a scissors style gate there.
I love it too- Thanks. It was replaced once. (The first one kept sticking.) This one has a bent front driver. Should have kept the first one, I guess.

Can somebody please hand me down a gate, please? Just Kidding.
I am going to put this together for my darling wife, and it will be painted LAVENDER to match the F7A/B locos-
Don’t you dare ask me where I got the locos from- I don’t feel like being THAT embarrased at this time, and you shouldn’t need to die of laughter.
Nothing very prototypical though.
Doing this just for phun.

You could always claim they’re ex-Atlantic Coast Line (Yes, I know that the ACL’s cab units were once purple, not lavender…)
