Hello

I am looking to buy an Athearns, HO scale, Detroit, Ford 850, Lime Yellow fire truck. I have looked everywhere, but the only one I have found is on E-bay and they are asking a lot for it. If any one knows where I can buy one, that would be great.

This is not the one I’m looking for Ford F-850 Fire Truck, Detroit [ATH92035]. I just bought the Ford C- Fire Truck. It looks great.

Put a saved search on ebay and see what happens. Often times I have seen items go high, then a little later one will go quite reasonably. Be patient and they will eventually come up in your price range.

My son bought one of those a couple of years back. IIRC, MSRP was about $25. How much does the joker on eBay want?

Hello there

The guy on E-bay only wants $24.99 for the truck, but wants another $25.00 to ship it. The last one I got on E-bay, I only paid $3.99 for shipping.

Dog gone shame the way some people will try and price gouge you. lots of companies do the same.

I’ve had good look finding things at trainshows at reasonable prices.There always seems to be somebody at these shows specializing in vehicles

Did you contact him or are you going by what the Ebay estimate is? I bet he will ship it to you for far less then 25 bucks.

Well, offering a great price and making it up in shipping and handling charges isn’t unheard of in the e-tailing world (I’m looking at you, hobby store in Upstate NY)

I contacted a seller once, they were asking a lot for parcel post, told them I ship usps first class for half as much with delivery in half the time. He agreed and I won the item. :slight_smile: Sometimes you just have to let them know that you know better :slight_smile:

By the way, my Athearn Mack firetruck is one of my favorite vehicles, it has great detail.
