Is anybody else still waiting for their Athearn Genesis 4-6-2- Pacific to be repared by Atherrn? The engines were shipped with a defective drive hear which Athearn says they will replace at no charge. They have had my engine for close to 8 months now with no results or feedback.
I have emailed and received courteous replies with one excuse or another. I still don’t have my engine.

Good luck, got mine back still ran for ---- i won’t give you $10.00 for their 2-8-2 or 4-6-2!
They do not have the parts to fix it. They are waiting on replacement wheelsets, with gear. They are coming from the far East, somewhere. As far as I know they still have not gotten the first run of Pacific replacements yet, and are also waiting on a second order of Mikado wheelsets. When they told me the repair was months away I went the NWSL gear route myself. It was NOT and easy fix, but I am quite happy with all my Athearn steam engines in the final result.
With that said, what do you consider a good steamer then?
I have several of their 2-8-2 Mikados and they run great.
