Athearn Genesis Engines

I purchased the SD45-2 Genesis and was impressed with the level of detail, then I bought two F-7A’s one with sound and the other without and the detail was great. I then purchased a SD-70MAC in Alaska Railroad paint and there is no uncoupling lever, no mu hoses or plow included? The reason I’m posting is i’m curious, is this one of the early Genesis models they made and later they included these extra details on the SD45-2 and F-7’s?

There are no holes drilled in the ends of the engine so I don’t think the parts were left out.

Thanks in advance. Jim

The SD70MAC was an earlier product from Athearn Genesis. The issue about the MU hoses and coupler lift bars were a constant source of aggrivation for many modelers and they were quite vocal about it. The more recent Genesis units have included them and the Athearn Ready to Roll have the holes drilled out at the end of the shell.

Thank you for your response! I kind of figured that was the case just wasn’t sure. I had kind of gotten away from Athearn until they brought out the Genesis line. I have the Challenger and the F-7 with sound and DCC and have been lucky so far as they are great running engines. Hope my luck holds out! Again Thank You for your time! Jim
