I have a pair of Genesis SD70MAC s. These are well detailed units. I finally got to run them thoroughly and was amazed at how smooth the acceleration and deceleration is. I have two TCS T4X decoders in them. I was wondering if these units, or any other Genesis locos for that matter, have a sort of circuitry that delays the start and stop after I hit speed step 1 on my NCE Power Cab.
It’s not really clear to me what you’re asking for, but I think you want to add momentum – easily done by adjusting CVs 3 and 4. CV 3 is Acceleration momentum. The higher the value in this CV, the slower the engine will start up when the throttle is increased. Conversely, CV 4 is the Deceleration momentum, the higher the value the longer it will take for the engine to stop.
I usually give these two CVs an initial value of 4 and adjust upward or downward from there.
Didn’t your T4X decoders come with documentation that explains this? If you’ve lost the documentation, you can download a copy from the TCS web site.
Haha, cacole, I am glad you reminded me. I can be absent minded sometimes. I just plugged the decoders in and programmed their respective addresses and set the two in a consist.
I will do that after I am done with all of my final exams tomorrow.
