I picked up 2 of the new HO Athearn GO Transit F59 loco’s that were just released and I must say they are very nicely detailed and run flawlessly on DC and DCC. I was very surprised just how nice these loco’s are for Athearn Ready To Run. They are suppose to represent GO transit’s newly puchased MP40’s. The F59 and the MP40 share the same “basic” shape but thats about it. If your looking for something different to pull your Athearn GO Bombardier cars around and you don’t care about the large number of differences in the two loco’s then pick one up, you will be very happy with it. If your a stickler for accuracy then stay away from them, you will be disappointed. I’m looking forward to the next train show I go to. I want to see if they will run as flawlessly as my GO Atlas GP40’s do for 8 hours straight.
