These are some pretty good coaches. I like the wheels because they can clack alot on the rails. These cars might have some troble on 18 inch radius curves because the diaphrams are too close. And you have to open the coupler in order to get into the car. Oddly enough, I found some cars in a never before anoucced road scheme, the Montreal, Quebec AMT.
These are great cars, but some of the road name cars lack painted interiors and I wish you could light these cars up. I tried to open up my Metrolink cars to paint them and put people in there, but the interior is connected to the shell. Another feature that I wish came with these cars is the cab cars being equipped with headlights. Despite these setbacks, they are still great to have and run on a layout, but I also wish that Athearn would not discontinue its manufacturing of these cars, but rather keep a certain supply for whoever is interested.
I agree with Kelly! I have the West Coast Express from Vancouver, BC. They surprisingly work on 18 inch curves but it’s tight.
