I Have a Athearn Genesis HO 16271 F7 A/B DCC/SND, SP/Widow #2
The sound it is very loud out of the box and seems to have a noisy motor when it runs on the track. I usually run the A model only. I like and it is very responsive with the DCC. I do not like the fact if you install smoke they void the warranty. So I did not install a smoke generator. I have not tried any other brands of F7s. but that is my [2c]
Oh and it is screaming fast on my mainline, almost got away from me.
