I was under the impression that these engines were out but I have not been able to find any. First Hobby shows the Cotton Belt unit in stock. Is that the only one that is available now?

Appearently the SP 9173 has already sold out. I thought they were not even suppose to be available until the end of the month.

It seems that First Hobby: www.firsthobby.com will be getting a shipment in by the end of the month. I just ordered one on back order.
My local hobby shop has recieved the RTR’s in SP. Very nice model well detailed. I was very pleased to also find out that Athearn has announced a furture release of this model in B&LE livery.
My two local shops each had the Cotton Belt ones this weekend. It was a little dissapointing because I would like to get the SP ones when they come out too!

Did Rio Grande own any of these Tunnel Motors? Or was it just the SD40T-2?
Though I’m modeling eastern railroads, I’ve always liked the Rio Grande and would like to have at least one Tunnel Motor unit in the large “Speed Lettering” scheme.
