Athearn Side boogie covers

Any ideas what to or how to repair the little post on the side of an old Athearn locomotive boogie wheel cover! The plastic of course broke off and I need a new one to fit into the metal hole between the plastic cover and the metal frame to hold the cover in place!

Hi CPbuff,
I’m not too confident that they are repairable.

Depending on which Loco, Blue-Box GP38 type or SD40-2 type, generally I have purchased replacement Truck Frames from eBay.com.
Type ‘Athearn truck frames’, in search and they are there.

I have found suppliers on eBay.com - who all exported Parts to me, here in the UK.

I have also purchased a couple of cheap Locos for Spares.
When I replace or refit Truck Frames, I always dab a bit of Silicon Grease to help prevent the Pegs from seizing.

Welcome back CPbuff, I have a few spare bogies that you might want i have C-C and B-B ones i will have to find them but they are replacement ones, What engine is it that your bogie post broke off of?

If it is two axle Athearn has these:

Thanks to everyone who responded! I will try to get my local train store in the big city to order me some on their next Athearn shipment. Where I live in the foothills of the mountains of Canada , shipping prices and delivery will be costly not including the dollar exchange! That’s why I was going the repair route!
