Athearn Trains HO scale GP38-2 diesel locomotive
I received the Southern High Hood GP-38-2’s and would add to what James Says, while mine are DC, the detail on these units is outstanding, what you come to expect from Genesis Line, the chime horns on both ends are simply awesome looking, only problem I encountered were the black paint on the wheels appeared to leech onto the wheels, since my break-in process includes alcohol cleaning of all wheels prior to break in, the engines ran very smooth after cleaning. Nothing beats looking at a Southern unit with the front in pin stripes with the black and aluminum paint scheme, great looking and running models.
