Who else noticed that in Athearn’s latest newsletter they refer to the HO Challenger as their FIRST Genesis Steam Locomotive?
What about the 2-8-2 and 4-6-2? The boxes in my basement both say “Genesis”. Or, given all the problems with these two models, are Athearn trying to change history and forget the 2-8-2 and 4-6-2?
Maybe Athearn is trying to forget those early models so they don’t have to provide replacement gears. I’m still waiting to hear from them about the replacement gear and axle set for the 2-8-2 Mikado.
Just read your post at the above link. Now that is an article and worthy of being published in MR. Of course, it will never be published because it’s in depth and far too long, which is sad.
Thanks for taking the time to look, Roger, and also for the kind words. The modifications are probably also a bit too time consuming for the “I want it now crowd”. [;)] I also used to “want it now”, but could never afford it, so I had to learn how to do this kind of stuff.[:D][:D]
