I could never purchase either or both of the Athern HO Monon F3 sets and they have been discontinued! WHY…I dunno, MUST have been money makers for Athern…they were ALWAYS sold out!
So I went to their site Athern.com and sent them a message asking them to re-run BOTH of the F3 sets only this time with DCC. Their reply: “We will take that under consideration”
That’s good enough for me cuz I’m asking EACH and every Monon fan to take a few minutes and go to their site and ask them for a re-issue of Monon HO sets:
ATHG-2616 HO F3 passenger set AND
ATHG-2516 HO F3 frieght set
This time with DCC upgrade!
let’s do it…and make this happen…they’ll make PLENTY of cash, and those of you like me who wanted either or BOTH of those sets can get 'em with the DCC upgrade!

I’m with you, Lee. While we’re at it, tell them to continue offering a DC version at about a third of the price so that they’ll be within my reach.
Heck, I’d be happy with the Proto1000’s at 1/3 the price, too.
Train Sets are mostly Xmas items. Wait 7 months.
Get a friendly dealer to order one for you.
"Money Maker’? If so, It’ll reappear. Wasn’t Monon primarily an Indiana road? .
“Re Issue”? . Athearn hasn’t traditionally offered F-3’s in HO.
Intermountain, Gennesis, Stuart. and P1K (or is it Bachmann) have made F-3’s - recommended in that order) - and you will need some luck in finding a MONON paint scheme.
LASTLY: Wanting someting at 2/3 off isn’t exactly providing incentive for a dealer to order something for you. You may have to cut some lawns this summer. Used equipment goes for 50% off - if it runs.
