Atlanta Streetcar to operate fare-free for reminder of 2015
rode this last weekend. Nice equipment, operated well. But…my fellow passengers were 3 street folk and one other. It travels through the most congested area of downtown Atlanta and is extremely ssssllllloowwwww because of the traffic lights. Further, I could not see much in the way of destinations that would be of interest to patrons. No way folks will use this to get to work or business. Walking is faster. So guess this is nice decoration but of small practical benefit. How sad. (BTW, for comparison, have ridden many streetcars in Germany, which use better ROW and are faster.)
