Hello,

Are the ties brown on Atlas code 83 track?

thanks,

Yes, the ties are brown on the Atlas Code 83. And the ties are more closely spaced than on the Atlas Code 100. It’s good stuff, but it sure is ‘springy’ when you’re tryhing to lay curves, LOL!

I have it and it is decent looking track, but as mentioned, it can become a challenge when one tries to form curves with it.

As recommended by a friend of mine, I’m going to buy a few piece of PECO Code 83 flex track for my manline curves as the Peco ties lock the rails into position.

It’s FAR easier to form curves with Atlas flex than with one that’s stiff, like ME. With stiff tracks like ME you have to ‘walk’ along it gradually curving it while keeping the curve smooth. Atlas flex, you just curve it from the free end and it will form a smooth curve with little or no extra manipulation. MUCH easier to get smooth curves. It’s almost springy enough to give an automatic easement effect.
