Atlas curve radius?

does atlas make 22" 20" 24" curves i think they make the 22’s but the others would be nice. my lay out calls for all off these. and i’d like to stay away from flex for curves.
Thanks.

Ben

Then you are pretty much stuck with 22" maximum from Atlas, last time I looked (been a LOT of years)…

Good luck,
Jeff

why not flexi track for curves? my flexi works better than the bought fixed stuff!!! just need a good pair of rail cutters, which aren’t much in price, but a good investment! DD

Flex Track allows to do easements so the transition into the curve is gentle and prototypical. Flex track also allows you to do super elevated curves, again very prototypical.

If the problem is with bumps and dips there are simple solutions to fix that. I use 3’ aluminum yard sticks to ensure the curves are consistant and the straights are straight.

As for Atlas having anything above 22" I haven’t seen it in the LHS or their catalogue.

The only Atlas radii I have seen are 15, 18, 22. Other manufacturers make other radii. Search Walther’s site http://www.walthers.com/

Atlas goes up to 24" sectional track in code 83, only up to 22" in code 100.

Go with flex track. If you are mixing-and-matching radii, you will inevitably end up with slight mismatches in position or curvature. With sectional track, you’re going to have gaps because of these, while you can get the flex track to adjust perfectly. Also, a single piece of 36-inch flex track will save you three rail joints over the 9-inch sections. Every rail joint is a potential trouble-spot for derailments and power loss, so the fewer you’ve got, the better off you’ll be.

I spent $10 on a cheap imported moto tool with discs to cut track. Works like a charm. Flex track is easy this way. Unlimited radii. Much easier than you think if you’ve never tried it. Go for it.
