I am getting ready to begin laying track. I am using Atlas code 100 flex soldered together. Question is: I think I read earlier this year that you should have the solid rail either on the inside or outisde of the curve, Just can’t find this.
Can someone help me out? Which is it?

When you flip over the track, you will see that one rail is sationary and the other will slide. This sliding rail should be to the inside of the curve. Goodluck,

When preparing to lay Atlas code 100 flex, keep the fixed rail to the outside.
The Atlas code 100 can be pre-curved and will hold a set, but you have to just about tie it in a knot to do it. A pre-curve of about 4" radius (no lie!) will settle down to 24" radius with minimum side thrust when anchored. The last few inches of each rail will probably require additional convincing - I apply it with judicious use of long nose pliers.
When soldering before laying track, only solder the fixed rail ends. Let the loose rail slide, then trim (rail and ties,) add rail joiners and solder if you have to. If the rail joints on curves are staggered, even just a few inches, they will be less likely to develop kinks.
