Atlas HO dash 8-40C diesel Locomotive

Why the CN logo on this unit??

Your mystery bag of forms and screws could be the coupler boxes used to install scale Accumate/Sergent Engineering couplers. Atlas supplies these with every loco.

I own 14 Atlas locomotives ,all run great, installed NCE decoders in all but 2, these have the Atlas decoder in them and they do not run well with any of the other engines. I will now only buy DCC ready or Atlas sound equipped engines. My 4 DASH840C’s are in manifest service, as I try not to model container trains.

In regards to the CN Logo, I beleive these units were Ex CONRAIL / LMS units CSX sold to the IC now CN if you look at the Cab you can make out the IC Below the numbers and a white CSX Logo on the nose. I did not purchase this road name but I did get the Latest run of 8-40CW’s in Conrail Silver Series and they run GREAT, Paint and Details are excellent.

I bought a C40-8CW in Conrail Quality paint. Great locomotive. Runs smooth like an Atlas should. Lighting good. Put Tsunami sound it to make it just that much better. Nice detail with MU hoses and cables. Replaced the accumate couplers with kadee. Very nice, highly recommend.

I have 3 of these CN units. One with sound and the other two with DCC decoders installed.good lookers, nice runners

I have 2 8-40CW’s from Atlas both Conrail #6213 in CR Quality and #6094 in the traditional CR scheme as I model Conrail. Both models are Excellent and worth having. They both run great and the paint schemes and details are prototypically accurate to a T! I absolutely enjoy running these locomotives.

Anyone know if the red marker lights actually work on the QSI DDC version? Manual say F11, but nuttin happens.
