Atlas HO FP7 close coupling.

I just finished making a drawbar from sheet styrene that close couples my two FP7’s at scale 36" separation. Took 20 minutes. I like 'em. They’re smooth runners and look great in SP black widow.

Ive seen the atlas fp-7 (older run)on ebay and wondered how they run ,are you dc or dcc…Jerry

The older ones are kato drive…nice

The original(yellow box) FP7’s were made by Roco(as were the GP38/40 and the SD24/35 models). Atlas then had the GP7 and the RS3/11 and RSD5/12 made by Kato. Current version are made in China.

I have a new run Atlas FP7 and I do not see any Kato engraving on the bottom. I suspect it was made by Roco as well(as were the S1/2/3/4 switchers).

I also have the ‘ER’ FP7’s that were imported from South America. Not sure if they are just copies or were made by Roco and shipped to ER for packaging, All run very smooth.
