Trying to find a decoder to fit this unit. Everytime I ask I get a differnt one mentioned - and never them same twice. Any one have this unit and what did you use?

I used an NCE decoder, model N14IP.

I think it was a Digitrax DN123 that I used. It drops right in and is small enough to fit (The main problem with decoders and the Atlas MP15). Even with that I still had to cut off the rear clip of the shell cover and do a little filing. There is a posibility you could use a Z Scale decoder if it is rated for enough amps.

I have two of these locos in one I installed a NCE N14IP and a Digitrax DN143IP in the second one.
Like you I had to cut off the rear clip of the shell cover on both installations. This is a very easy almost drop in installation. I did buy the TCS decoder made for this engine but did not use it, I found both NCE and Digitrax decoders to be an easier installation.
