I have bought a couple of RS3 body’s (older ones) and was wondering if they would fit on the C425 and / or RS1 chassis? I know of a one of each for sale locally now.
Any information appreciated.

No, they won’t fit the C-425, it’s longer. You might be able to fit an RS-3 body on the RS-1, but I think the RS-1 will be too short. Regardless of whether they were to fit, the frame configuration of both chassis are all wrong for the RS-3 bodies. You can order bodies from Atlas for the RS-1 and C-425, (if they still have them in stock). Check Ebay for the RS-3s.
The old Atlas RS-3 shells will only fit the old Atlas RS-3 and RS-11 frames. The old Atlas RS-3s and RS-11s were made by Kato. The couplers mount inside the plastic pilot/walkway section of the shell.

The frames on the Atlas rs-1s were cast metal, including the walkways and undercarriges which were very different from the rs-3s.
