Yes, unusually brief compared to other MR locomotive reviews.

Hi,
This is a quick look review, as the Atlas model is unchanged from the 2005 release except for the paint. We did shoot a new video and that will be posted shortly. You can find more information about the model’s performance in the link under related articles.
Thanks for reading.

I have several of the '05 release, and am duly impressed with how smoothly they run and how good they sound. Mine can pull a 24 full-length car passenger up a 1.5% grade with no problem, and look and sound good doing it.

Let me add I have 4 units in the Virginian paint scheme and ran a pair of them at the head of a 122 car train on our club layout no helpers. They pulled this train very well up grades and around curves, grades were in excess of 2% and since the train was about 70 feet long it was stretched out over several 180 degree curves. The biggest issue was failure of draft gear components in the train. Kaydes ok others not up to the task. If only Athearn boxes were used with out screws they would pull apart. Cars were heavier than recommended practice in most cases and equipped with metal wheels in most cases, some of the yard queens that were tacked on were not in great shape.
These are by far the best locomotives I have and sound great, I wish all of the rest of the locomotives were as good as these. In comparison to all of my other locos these are by far the gold standard. These units easily appear to be able to pull prototype consists. The consensus from my fellow club members is nothing else will pull like them.
